Deqing Geographical Information Science Centre adopts a two-floor structure with a floorage of 7,100 square metres. It is divided into 8 districts as following: Preface Hall, Navigation and Location Service Centre, Airborne and Airspace Remote Sensing Centre, Geographical Information System and Internet Service of Geographical Information Centre, Geomatics Information Engineering Service Centre, Maps and Geographical Information Cultural Centre, Beauteous Deqing in line with UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and Future Cinema. With a global view, the Science Centre focuses on the visualisation of intellectual outcomes, intending to introduce the global developments of topography and China’s role in question through multiple approaches such as artificial intelligence, virtue reality, holographic imaging and interactive experience. A core and aggregation platform of the geographical information industry and a window to the world are thus created to represent Deqing’s demonstration role in the smart society industry and Deqing’s function as a training base of geomatics education, and to boost the agglomeration effect of geographical information industry and corporation in Deqing.

Through scientific, intellectual and amusing exhibitions, the Science Centre presents the scientific principle and field application of geomatics and popularizes knowledge on geographical information technology. Demonstrating the geographical information industry’s development history, the Science Centre highlights the importance of the industry to serving economic construction and safeguarding national security. The Centre also aims at carrying forward the culture and spirit of geographical information, and improving the scientific literacy of citizens; to get geographical information familiarized, popularized and beloved among the public, the Centre represents the development and outcomes of the geographical information industry by means of graphic display, popular science gallery, audio-video and interactive experience.
