Deqing International Convention Center is the permanent site of the inaugural United Nations World Geographic Information Congress and one of the landmarks of Deqing. The first inaugural United Nations World Geographic Information Congress was held here. Approved by the State Council, sponsored by the United Nations and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, the grand congress was held in November 2018, which was a large-scale, high-level and substantial international multilateral event. At that time, the representatives from 108 countries left their footprints here. The permanent meeting site is designed with the concept of "breaking dawn of cloud, phoenix dance in the sky", foiling the lightness and etherealization of the "phoenix" with the grace and nebulosity of the "cloud". The two semicircles with the silver-colored bodies in the east and west forms an ellipse, covering with the stereo metal roof on it, just like the flying phoenix that jumps into the air. The whole building is located in the middle of Fengqi lake, which is integrated with the surrounding water and just like a floating cloud in the lake.

There is a conference center, an exhibition center and an outdoor roof garden in the Convention Center with a total floor area of 48,500 square meters. The flexible spaces and professional facilities are for the conferences, exhibitions, gatherings, celebrations and performances, it attracts all kinds of the large-scale international and domestic exhibition activities in the Yangtze river delta region and even the whole country with the new mode of exhibition + tourism. Since then, more than 200 activities have been held at home and abroad, receiving more than 20,000 visitors, opening a new chapter for the economic development of Deqing.
