What surrounds the venue of the Forum on United Nations Geospatial Information Management and the Deqing Grand Theatre is our Fengqi Lake.
Fengqi Lake coves a land of 220,000 square metres with 133,333 square metres being lake surface and the rest being lake landscape. Around the lake is a 2-kilometre greenway, and flower sea and tree array alongside, contributing a hint of ethereal oasis that will never be found in the urban city. Here is the best photo shooting spot for tourists.
Thanks to the “freshwater in town” project – which diverted the water of Dongtiao Stream to the town, the lake water maintains alive. Unique water net gives the lake landscape a special figure of Feng (a Chinese mystical bird of fortune) carrying with fruits, implying the meaning of Feng arriving from orient. Feng consonants with Huang (another Chinese mystical bird of fortune in pair with Feng) which refers to the presence of people from afar in the world. Sitting in the central of Fengqi Lake is the venue of UNWGIC, surrounded by water. The main venue of UNWGIC is reflected on the surface. Fengqi Lake and Deqing Grand Theatre jointly convey a grand image of “Feng scraping the sky and flying wilfully”.
Fengqi Lake at night, with its ethereal beauty, flows into your heart, as you are enjoying its splendid music fountain – totally a visual feast of water, audios, lights and electricity.
